The National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) held an informative webinar to help CGLR communities Get Ready for Summer and Summer Learning Day! on Thursday, May 19th 2016 at 1:00PM (EDT).
During the webinar we provided innovative tips and strategies that align with the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading's goals of reducing the number of children that experience summer learning loss in reading and increasing access to high-quality summer learning opportunities.
We were joined by Kirsten Russell, Initiative Consultant at Community Foundation of Sarasota and Liz McChesney, Director of City Wide Children and Family Services Chicago Public Library. They both gave instructive examples of how to plan, collaborate, and have a successful Summer Learning Day event.

NSLA is also gearing up for Summer Learning Day (SLD) 2016, which will be celebrated on Thursday, July 14th. This annual event is promoted nationally through events and media to build awareness around summer learning loss and to recognize summer learning action happening in programs and communities across the country. Each year SLD mobilizes programs and community to host events and other activities in their communities that recognize local summer learning efforts. We look forward to having you celebrate with us!
