Welcome to all the GLR communities!
Whether you are seasoned in the GLR Campaign Network or have just joined, The National Summer Learning Association’s (NSLA) partnership with the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading seeks to support communities in their work to ensure that all low-income children can read proficiently by the end of the third grade. To reach this goal NSLA provides communities with resources, technical assistance, and tons of support. Please check-in on the Huddle with NSLA every Wednesday as we provide valuable resources to enhance your programs, highlight community Pacesetters, and share Summer Learning Day event ideas from other communities. Let’s get started!
- We know that one of the challenges with providing quality summer learning programs and opportunities for youth in your communities is the lack of adequate funding resources. The National Summer Learning Association, in collaboration with the White House and other educational advocacy agencies to develop a 2016 Summer Opportunities Funding Resource Guide and Action Tool Kit to increase and creatively blend public and private funding to develop programs, services and opportunities.
- WEBINARS include free resources, detailed examples from other GLR communities, and expert quests in the field of early literacy and summer learning. Please look forward to invitations to our upcoming webinars on Summer Learning Day, Assessments, Quality Instruction, and Curriculum & Activities.
Let’s continue to work together to achieve our #keepkidslearning #SummerLearningDay #GLReading goals!
