Dual Language Learners

We know that achievement levels of dual language learners lag far below those of their English-speaking peers. We also know that, while a rich early childhood care or education setting is critical to ensuring children are ready to learn when entering kindergarten, it is critical that teachers (both at the early childhood level as well as the early grades) are adequately prepared to effectively teach these children.

The materials below provide a good overview of some of the current thinking about DLL instruction.
