December 20, 2013

Colleagues,

This week’s update from the Network Communities Support Center includes community stories, funding opportunities, conference announcements, and an attendance toolkit for the holidays:

  • Congratulations to the New York Life Excellence in Summer Learning award winners: the Boston Summer Learning Project, the Connecticut Pre-Engineering Program (CPEP), and Freedom School Partners (Charlotte, NC). If you missed out this year, programs advancing early literacy can apply for next year's award. Winners will receive $10,000 from the New York Life Foundation. Applications are due Friday, February 14th, 2014.

  • Registration is now open for the 2014 Coalition for Community Schools National Forum, held April 9-11 in Cincinnati, Ohio. This year's theme is "Community Schools: The Engine of Opportunity." Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about partnerships between schools and communities, network, and visit Community Learning Center sites.

Warmly,
Susanne
