School Readiness Performance Measures

School Readiness Performance Measures

  1. Increase in the percent/number of children who score ready for kindergarten on a standardized assessment tool.
  2. Increase in the percent/number of child care centers and home providers participating in QRIS.
  3. Increase in the percent/number of children receiving comprehensive developmental surveillance, screening and follow-up where indicated.
  4. Increase in the percent/number of low-income parents participating in programs to create literacy-rich home environments (as a proxy for measuring individual household environments).
  5. Increase in the percent/number of early childhood programs implementing evidence-based language and literacy models.
  6. Increase in the percent/number of programs implementing a formal transition model from early care to pre-K and pre-K to kindergarten.
  7. Increase in the percent/number of low-income children in full-day kindergarten

Performance measures help communities hold themselves accountable for achieving the target, which reflects progress, and for producing results that improve conditions for children.
